Michigan routs Central Michigan 30-3
/Max Huntley and Adam Coon led the Michigan Wrestling team with tech falls to roll over Central Michigan 30-3. While these wins were expected, the night got out of hand with the match-ups some would have considered toss-ups. I thought CMU had a chance at 133, 141, 149, 174, and 184. Instead it was the Michigan winning 9 of the 10 matches.
The only weight the Wolverines lost was at 141 without #4 Stephen Dutton. #12 Zach Horan was able to beat backup 133 George Fisher handily for the Chippewas sole win of the night.
At 149, freshman Alec Pantaleo (Michigan) impressed with a 10-5 win over Colin Heffernan (CMU). Pantaleo showed great quickness in some scrambles and takedowns to down a very talented freshman opponent.
Another freshman for the Wolverines is #18 Davonte Mahomes (Michigan) winning a 6-3 match over Jordan Ellingwood (CMU). After a scoreless first period, Mahomes came on strong late in the match to clinch another victory. Mahomes remains undefeated in his college career.
At 184, #7 Domenic Abounader (Michigan) made his season debut making the Chippewas' night even more challenging. He cruised to a 9-3 win after giving up a reversal in the first.
Michigan is now off until the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas December 5-6. Central Michigan is off until their first conference dual of the season where they (hope to) travel to Buffalo on December 14th.
