Metcalf Leads US at Yarygin

Brent Metcalf won a silver medal at 65 kg going an impressive 4-1 at the tournament known as the "toughest in the world". Metcalf lost to Ilyas Bekbulatov for the second time in as many years in the finals of this tournament, this time by a score of 6-8.

The proposed AGON match between Metcalf and Aaron Pico got an interesting look in this bracket. Pico lost his first match and was not pulled in to repechage. It's great to see Pico wrestling despite signing the Bellator MMA contract. However, him being able to beat Metcalf appears to be a stretch and the doubters received more fuel to that sentiment with the results this weekend.

The Americans had two in the 86 kg bracket, Jake Herbert and Phil Keddy. Herbert went 1-1 and didn't get pulled in to repechage. Keddy found himself falling in the bronze medal match with an impressive 3-2 record in the tournament.
