Olympic Trials Head Back to Iowa City

If you have been following Bloodround since the beginning, you will know that locations for USA Wrestling events have been a huge criticism. Why have premier events in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York while the largest crowds come from other areas? Well the sellout crowds for the 2012 Olympic Trials in Iowa City pretty much earned them a no bid contract for the 2016 version and that is a phenomenal decision. The fans will pack Carver-Hawkeye and it will be an electric atmosphere. 

This will be a great stretch for the Iowa fans and local businesses. Iowa University will host the 2016 Big Ten Championships just one month before the Olympic Trials. Love or hate Iowa, seeing both these events sell out with awesome energy will be a great thing for the sport of wrestling. I can't wait to be at both!
