Programming Alert: World Cup This Weekend

The 2015 World Cup will be held in The Forum in Los Angeles this weekend which pretty much ensures there will be more Iranian fans there than American. However, if you are stuck in the midwest for the week like myself you can tune in several places to catch some great freestyle action. United World Wrestling will have a stream for the early rounds, and then the Gold Medal Match will be broadcast at 9:00pm Eastern on NBC Sports Network. The Bronze Medal match will be at 7:30pm on Universal Sports, but I don't think I, or 90% of the country, have that channel yet.

AGON V seemed to prove that despite some of the freestyle rules being a bit confusing, it is a much more entertaining style than folkstyle. Having some of the best wrestlers in the world battle it out in dual format will no doubt provide some great action.

After a dominating 2014 World Championships, it appears Russia isn't ready to relinquish their claim to best team in the land. They are essentially sending their "C" team over to the World Cup which still means it's one of the best lineups in the world. Hopefully USA's solid lineup can get past this Russian group to get to Iran in the finals.
