Buckeyes Roll Past Missouri
/The highly anticipated matchup of Missouri at Ohio State, billed as two top-five teams, was a little underwhelming with Missouri missing four starters. Still, we got to see some very talented guys grapple on Big Ten Network so I'll call it a great way to spend a Thursday night.
Two ranked matchups were produced with some interesting results. Jaydin Eierman has impressed so far this year as a lengthy and powerful freshman 133. Some thought he would be difficult for the shorter Tomasello, who is now up at 133 from 125 his first two seasons. There was really no such difficulty as the Buckeye handled him on his way to a dominant 12-2 win.
Olympic Bronze medalist and two-time NCAA Champ J'Den Cox was expected to dispatch freshman Kollin Moore. However, about four minutes into the match Cox appeared to tire allowing Moore to stick around. Moore got a takedown late getting the Buckeye fans on their feet as he fell short of the upset. While Cox didn't look his best, it's worth giving a lot of credit to Moore. Cox only lost one match last year and that was by DQ. Of course, there was also winning the Olympic Trials and that bronze medal thingy.
All in all, Ohio State does have probably their best dual team in a very long time. They have had the fire power at Big Ten's and NCAA's, but if things continue to progress this year in the right direction they are absolutely contenders for the best dual team in the Big Ten and a threat to Oklahoma State in the National Duals.
