This could have been an ugly weekend for the young Michigan Wrestling squad. Rutgers & Lehigh posed veteran lineups that could put a lot of points up making some ugly dual results. Instead, the Wolverines wrestled like such to pull off back to back upsets for a really positive weekend in Ann Arbor.

Credit the Michigan Coaching staff with rising to the challenge this weekend. Jackson Striggow embodies that as he continues his hot streak as the redshirt freshman from Minnesota seems to gain more and more confidence each match.

Striggow iced both duals this weekend. He was the difference against Rutgers as all the favorites held serve before him.

The Lehigh dual was full of surprises. After the marquee Youtsey-Cruz match didnt go Michigan's way, the mitten's favorite Italian, Salvatore Profaci, knocked off #11 Randy Cruz 3-2. Malik Amine used a takedown in the last ten seconds to upend #11 Laike Gardner 5-4 before Brian Murphy & Logan Massa took care of business.

It's a nice senior send off for All-American Brian Murphy as he got a bow and arrow for a pin 1:50 into the match.

Michigan hits the road next weekend but don't leave the best state in the history of the world. The Wolverines face Central Michigan Thursday at 7pm in Mount Pleasant and then go to East Lansing on Sunday for their battle with the Spartans on Sunday at 2pm.
