Massa Dominates EMU Open

To begin his collegiate career, Logan Massa dominated the 165 bracket at the EMU Open on Saturday. Two major decisions, a technical fall, and two pins were the results from his five matches on his way to the title. 

Massa defeated sophomore Garrett Sutton two matches to zero in wrestle-offs. No official word has declared Massa the starter in lieu of redshirting, but you have to expect the #3 Michigan team to start their best lineup possible even though Sutton is a very capable option. 

All five freshmen that Michigan brought placed and eight wrestlers total placed for the Wolverines. 

Michigan opens up their first official competition as a team at the Northeast Duals on the 14th. They will face Sacred Heart, West Virginia, and Hofstra.
