Michigan Drops Final Dual at NC State

While other teams hand select their opponents and choose whether or not to participate, Michigan once again faced another higher ranked for as part of the National Duals. They traveled to #7 North Carolina State to finish their dual season, falling 23-15. 

The Wolfpack won the two important swing matches to put the result in their favor. At 197, Malik McDonald finished his attacks to take a hard-fought decision from Jackson Striggow. At 125, Youtsey was ten seconds from winning when Fausz got a takedown to force overtime. In sudden victory, Fausz won a scramble off of Youtsey's shot to take the 5-3 win. 

It wasn't all negative for Michigan, as their stars continue to shine. Stevan Micic was paired up with #18 Jamal Morris, a lengthy tough matchup for anyone. Instead Micic's attacks and finishes were sharp adding back points to impressive takedowns on his way to a 23-5 tech.
